Friends Church increases online giving from 5% to 45% in four years
Friends Church in Yorba Linda, California, started accepting online giving and event registrations in 2006. Since that time, Friends has seen its online giving increase from five percent in 2006 to 45% today.
The church attributes this increase in its online giving to the comfort level its members (and guests) have developed with TransactU over the years.
“Our biggest form of promotion for online giving—both throughout the year and end of the year—is the comfort our congregation has with using TransactU,” says Christy Moore, Project Director for Friends Church. “It has been a natural progression to utilize the online giving tool, and our pastors readily share with the congregation the ease of donating online during the weekend services.”
The church uses online giving for both its general giving, as well as for its special ministry focus areas and end-of the-year giving.
“TransactU has saved us a tremendous amount of manual processing time and has provided just one more way to make giving both throughout the year and specials gifts at the end of the year safe and easy for all our attendees,” she says.
Moore notes that the security features built into TransactU have helped make members and guests feel comfortable giving online.
“One of the other great advantages of working with ServiceU is the comfort we have with the incredible security measures they have implemented to protect our givers information. In a day and age when security is a primary concern for many online users, we can confidently say their information is safe with ServiceU,” states Moore.
Moore has found that more of the congregation is taking advantage of TransactU’s recurring payment option for online giving.
“It makes it easy for them to include their giving process as a part of their regular online banking without having to remember to physically go in each week and tithe,” says Moore. “With the newest changes ServiceU has made to its recurring payment tool, many of our attendees have commented about how simple it is to use. Our givers especially like being able to have greater control over payment start and stop dates, as well as how often their giving occurs.”
Moore says ServiceU continues to be a great partner and that the company is quick to respond to questions and needs that arise.
“They are always willing to hear new ideas and implement suggestions,” she says.
